Benjamin T. Heggestad, DDS, MD
Dr. Heggestad, a proud Duluth native, graduated from Duluth East High School before attending the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he played baseball for the UMD Bulldogs and completed his undergraduate studies. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. His education continued at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he received his medical degree and specialized training, earning a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In July 2021, Dr. Heggestad joined Northern Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the local Great Lakes Study Club, a chapter of the Seattle Study Club. He has served on the Northeast District Dental Society Executive Council and is a current board member of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
As a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Heggestad’s professional interests include outpatient anesthesia, dental implants, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, and full arch reconstruction.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Heggestad enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children hiking, traveling, and experiencing all that northern Minnesota and Wisconsin have to offer. He is an avid golfer and loves to hunt, fish, cook, ski, and spend time outdoors. He is currently accepting new patients and is eager to give back to the community where he grew up.
